This is a long debated question that which is best. But i think that both are interdependent. Both are true to their time. Ancient are role model for modern writer that how to write. on the other hand it is difficult to follow other. This kills individuality by following other. Because of Ancient modern writer have many advantages also. Because they have written nearly about all the subjects. Ancient are great because they have pass the exam of time. After many years they are still alive because of their works. on the other hand modern are also experimenting and creating something new which was not done by writers of past. So both are important. Today's modern will be ancient in time to come and today's ancient were once modern.
