Blog on movie review on 'Hamlet'

After watching the movie ‘Hamlet’, which is directed by Kenneth Branagh. I really enjoyed the movie my view on the movie Hamlet given below.

Yes, I want to say that this movie is faithful to the original play of Shakespeare. In original play same dialogues and same characters are same. And soliloquies in the play Hamlet is really enjoy, so at last we can say that it is faithful to the original play.

Yes, after watching movie my thinking about the play and characters as well as situations of Hamlet is totally changed. In the play we do not see the madness of Hamlet but in a movie we can see very well. And the character of Ophelia is tragic one.

When we watch movie we feel aesthetic delight. When in grave diggers scene conversation of two person. And second while Hamlet in madness he makes fun with Polonius. So it creates funny atmosphere in the movie.

While reading a play I can’t feel catharsis much but after watching movie I observe catharsis. Like in a movie Ophelia cries on death of her father and she behaves like mad at that time I feel catharsis.

Yes movie screening helps us in a better way to understand the play. Because in the play some scenes are there that we have no idea to better understanding . In the movie we may find too much madness in Ophelia’s character .and main thing that we observed in the movie that how hamlet procrastinates to take revenge.

I will cherish lifetime the ending scene of the play Hamlet which was well directed by Kenneth Branagh because it touched to my heart and its also heart melting scene so I like to remember the ending scene of the movie.

If I would be a director of the movie then I would like to make change in the characters of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern who are deliberately marginalized by the Dramatist Shakespeare but if I would be a director then I like to give more space to both of these characters as they have not given enough space and another change I would like to do that is in the character of Ophelia so she should have given more role to play in the movie.

At the beginning of the movie there is a scene of statue, which symbolizes here a gloomy atmosphere and the statue also gives reminder to Prince Hamlet that He should take revenge therefore it is symbolized of horror which is going to happen.

In the play with the help of movie feministic approach can be found which is more applicable so far as my opinion is concerned because in the play females have not given more space as Hamlet hence I think that this approach will be more applicable to the pay.

Before watching the play I think that approach of Cultural studies of Hamlet is appealing and more effective one behind one reason and that is Cultural study can be done of this play because this play occupies many things which are related or has a direct relation with culture. so I like to put this approach here but it was my opinion when I have not watched the movie.
